Water 1st Goes to School

Water 1st has a unique program designed specifically for schools and young people. A team of volunteers and students from the University of Washington developed a Water 1st curriculum—a DVD/film and presentation, classroom discussion, and various writing, arts, math, and science activities. Students learn about the global water crisis and Water 1st’s response in holistic, integrative ways.

As young people grow in their understanding of the issue and the need for safe water, they are inspired to help make a difference. From preschool to college, we see students’ awareness raised, as well as their desire to take action and help children in other parts of the world gain access to clean water.
