Water 1st in India

This year's film starts off in India, where Water 1st visited in March, 2007. Our local partner organization, APS, is always eager to show us as many waterpoints and latrines as we can possiblly fit in during the short time we have to visit. And of course we are eager to see them all as well. Come along as we travel down the Ganges River to villages on the islands of the Sunderbans, and meet the people who are being helped by your donations in India. See the India Film ––>

Water 1st in Honduras

Water 1st visited Honduras in April, 2007, just at the beginning of the tropical rain season. The San Gabriel project was nearly completed, with the spring cap and water storage tank being finished, and the community members building latrines and household sinks. Water 1st in Bangladesh

Water 1st works in the slums of Dhaka, Bangladesh, where four million people live as squatters and slum dwellers. Most of these four million people have no access to safe drinking water or latrines. Water 1st works with our local partner organization, DSK, to correct this problem. Come along and see some of the projects your donations have funded in 2007. See the Bangladesh Film ––>

Water 1st in Ethiopia

The Ilamu Muja project was nearly completed when Water 1st visited Ethiopia in January, 2007. Meet Bosu, who was still spending 6 hours per day fetching water as the project was being built. Today she has safe drinking water thanks to the generosity of Water 1st supporters. See the Ethiopia Film ––>

The Give Water • Give Life Benefit, on Friday, November 16th was a huge success. Over 560 people filled Benaroya Hall in Seattle, and $444,000 was raised to benefit people in need of clean water water in Bangladesh, Honduras, Ethiopia and India.

This year's film documented the work of Water 1st in the field during site visits to India, Honduras, Bangladesh, and Ethiopia. Each year the Water 1st team visits the communities which are being funded by the generous donations of our supporters.

These visits serve as a time to check on the progress of water projects which have been funded, to meet people still in need of safe water, and to ensure the quality of each and every project.

We also take time to document the stories of people who are in need of clean water, as well as those who are benefitting from the support of Water 1st. We try to present life in these communities as it actually exists: the laughter as well as the tears, the struggles and the accomplishments of the people who are working hard to bring clean water to their families.

To make for better Internet viewing, we've sectioned the film into four short segments, each several minutes long. Be sure to watch all four.
