New View Church of Stanwood/Camano Island decided to participate in a project called Advent Conspiracy this holiday season. The idea is to buy fewer things for loved ones and instead focus on spending quality time with them. The money they save by not buying gifts for people who already have lots of material items is then given to someone with a real need.
This season church members chose to give the gift of water through Water 1st. The congregation of 250 people raised an impressive $10,000, enough to provide water, sanitation, and hygiene education to about 140 people. That is a gift with a tremendous impact. Thank you members of New View Church!
We were faced with a challenge this year by Pastor Mike, and I’m so thrilled and proud of the response. When my husband Dave and I did our small part, donating on behalf of our kids, it gave us all much to talk about, and reason to be grateful.
