Water1st Youth Advocates learn the impact and challenges of the global water crisis, create change through advocacy training, and meet a new network of friendships based on a common interest of global equity.
Our curriculum teaches students a variety of global development topics including public health, technology, economics, gender equity, research, monitoring & evaluation, and community-led development.
Students learn how to be advocates for a cause; how to develop a strong voice; and how to develop a plan to impact the injustices they see in the world. Advocacy training includes public speaking, writing, designing social media campaigns, and more.
COMMITMENT: 2-4 hours/month during the school year
Hybrid meetings take place on Sundays from 4:00 – 5:30 pm pacific time.
Leadership positions are available and meet from 3:00 – 4:00 pm before each Youth Advocate meeting. Opportunities include content creation and editing, interviewing and facilitation.
Water1st Youth Advocates are students in grades 7th – 12th who are curious and passionate about making a positive impact in the world.

No! We offer hybrid meetings via Zoom. Students from all over the country and any where in the world are welcome. Additional meeting times are offered for those that live outside of the United States.
This program is offered free of charge.
Students will gain awareness and understanding of water inequities. They will have opportunities for public speaking, facilitation, communications, and community building.
There is no deadline! Students may sign up and join the program any time of the year.

Global Fellows are selected to participate in a travel experience to learn about sustainable development in our project communities. Sophomores, juniors and seniors are eligible to apply to this program.
This school year program, offered online around the world for students in grades 6th to 12th, empowers members to use their talents and networks to further the work of Water1st and to meet like-minded students around the United States and across the globe.
