Our 2024-2025
youth programs report

Water1st Youth Programs bring together passionate young leaders who turn learning into action. From creative fundraisers to impactful advocacy, students raise awareness and resources for clean water and sanitation projects worldwide. This report celebrates the energy they bring to building a future where safe water is a reality for all.

Big thanks to the Annual Report Committee and Youth Advocate Caroline Carter for creating this report!

Around the country and across the globe, young people are making a difference.

CARRY5 WALK FOR WATER

Our culminating event is our annual Carry5 Walk for Water, open to the public. Students host the walk, rally friends, serve as volunteers, and raise money for a community water project.

Addie from Troop 50680
"I sold 2,523 boxes of cookies this year. Please use this money to help more people have clean water and a toilet."
9 year old Sophie sews for clean water
Sophie made Christmas gifts – doll hats, doll scarves, and aprons – to raise money for new water systems and toilets around the world. Her mom Annie says, “She has a gazillion orders and there is material everywhere!”
Findley Elementary 3rd graders
Ms. Buckley’s 3rd glade class at Finley Elementary in Portland spent four weeks studying how they can take action through aid, awareness, and activism. They decided to write an ABC book to raise awareness about the water crisis in Ethiopia. Students also raised $1,105 – mostly in pennies – to support solutions!
