In 2020, Melus Gamez helped her community of El Carrizalito, Honduras, realize their dream of a new piped water system. Along with her neighbors, she dug miles of pipeline trench entirely by hand to bring clean water to every household, classroom and community gathering place.
Over 2 billion people lack access to clean water. Women and girls spend hours every day carrying home every drop of water their families use. On May 1, 2022, we walk in solidarity with the 2 billion people who still lack access to clean water.
When everyone, everywhere has piped water and a toilet, the impact is transformative.
