This policy applies to all information received by Water First International (dba “Water 1st”), both online and offline, as well as any electronic, written, or oral communications.

Water1st solicits and accepts gifts that are consistent with its mission and that support our core programs, as well as special projects.
Restrictions on Gifts
Water1st will not accept gifts that (a) are for purposes outside Water1st’s mission, (b) would result in Water 1st losing its status as an IRS 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, (c) are too difficult or too expensive to administer in relation to their value, or (d) would result in any unacceptable consequences for Water1st. All final decisions on the restrictive nature of a gift, and its acceptance or refusal, shall be made by the Water1st Board Executive Committee. In general, Water1st cannot accept a restricted gift of less than $10,000.
The following gifts to Water1st are generally accepted without review

-Marketable Securities: Marketable securities may be transferred electronically to an account maintained at one or more brokerage firms or delivered physically with the transferor’s endorsement or signed stock power (with appropriate signature guarantees) attached. Unless otherwise directed by Water 1st’s Board Finance Committee, all marketable securities will be sold promptly upon receipt, and the fund the donor established will be credited with the proceeds from the sale, after commissions and expenses, if any. In some cases marketable securities may be restricted, for example, by applicable securities laws or the terms of the proposed gift; in such instances the decision whether to accept the restricted securities shall be made by the Water 1st Board Executive Committee.

Water from Wine is a very small winery and unable to benefit from competitive shipping rates that larger wineries enjoy. Wine is shipped via UPS, which adds additional fees for shipping alcohol because an adult over 21 must sign for delivery. Water from Wine does not profit from shipping costs.
