Made in Bangladesh
The name ‘Dhokra’ is dervied from the Dhokra Damar tribes of Bengal who originally practiced this art form using a non-ferrous metal casting technique known as lost-wax casting. This technique has been known to be in existence for nearly 4000 years. This beautifully handcrafted sculpture depicts a woman carrying water, a poignant reminder of the vital importance of water access in communities.
