Leonetti is an iconic Washington State wine producer. Fans know that you cannot buy it. Allocations sell out every year to insiders. But we’ve got 3 premium bottles here for the higher bidder!
2020 Serra Pedace
100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Deep and dark crimson. Ethereal nose of high-toned black & blue fruits, barbequed ribs, fresh herbs, and tobacco. Mouthful of chalk-dusted dried fruits reminiscent of cocoa powdered dried cherries. The palate is plush and grippy, an intriguing and gorgeous expression of fruit and structure. The wine finishes persistently with lovely, sweet fruit.
2021 Cabernet Sauvignon
81% Cabernet Sauvignon
7% Petit Verdot
5% Merlot
4% Cabernet Franc
3% Malbec
Dark to the rim of the glass, the 2021 Cabernet has an intoxicating perfume of ripe plum and black cherry, graham cracker, crème brûlée, and cassis. The creamy texture is flawless with tannin and acid in perfect harmony. What the 2021 vintage lacked in yield, it utterly compensated for in quality. This wine is both handsomely built for the cellar and a challenge to not enjoy in its youth.
2020 Loess
100% Cabernet Sauvignon
Inky and dark color to the rim of the glass. For the 2020 vintage, our hillside estate vineyard, adjacent to the driveway leading to the Leonetti winery, is my favorite of the Single Vineyard Series quartet. The nose has many layers including macerated blackberry, blueberry jam, baking spices, black olive, charcoal, gun flint, and sage. On the palate it is loaded with dusty blue fruit. There’s a stunning expression of pure, mouthwatering fruit bolstered by elegant tannins and lively acidity that makes this wine simply delectable.
