Max is a 7th grader at Bush School. In February 2014 he and his mom traveled to Ethiopia with Water1st. The experience gave him a new perspective.
“It was an amazing experience in so many ways. I got to see, smell, taste, and hear things that I’d never experienced before. But what really has stayed with me was meeting all the kids. They were happy kids just like me, but living a really different life – without so much “stuff”: no computers, no internet, no nice clothes, limited opportunities to go to school, and, of course, no clean running water in their homes. It’s made me really appreciate my school and how lucky I am.”
Max and his friends are participating in the Seattle Carry5 Walk for Water on May 4th and are raising money for a water project in Ethiopia.
